Ok, I'll say this, there are some American Chinese foods and there are other Chinese foods. I'll be honest, I came here for the noodles and dumplings. No American Chinese for me!I had the Black Bean Noodle soup. My Fiancee had a spicy seafood noodle soup and everybody else had something else. The black bean noodle soup was different. It's a little salty, which was expected since it was black beans, but it was black like asphalt. However, it wasn't bad at all. There are some pieces of shrimps, onions and other stuff in the black stuff. All you need to do is mix that stuff with the fresh noodles they make. Mix that up and you got black noodles. Add some hot sauce to that and I think you might enjoy it, once get get away from the fact that it's black...like really black. The dumplings are not bad at all. I suggest dumplings and noodles might be a way to go. However if your afraid to try new things, you can stick with your General Tso's.

I'm going to 'out' myself: I'm a white person. I like Chinese food that white people like. Chinese Delicacy serves Chinese food that Chinese people like. Not a bad thing; just givin' you a heads-up so you know what to expect. When you walk in, the place is literally packed with Asian people (always a good sign if you're looking for delicious, authentic foreign food). The TV in the corner is set to an Asian channel. The snippets of conversations we could overhear were in foreign languages. My husband and I had the only blue eyes in the building. It was kinda cool. The staff is fast, efficient and friendly enough. The menu was confusing to me (I'm used to combinations and things I've heard of [sweet-and-sour this, barbecued that, etc.]). We usually get our food to go (like I said, the place is hoppin') and, even after a five minute drive, the food is always piping hot.If you like more eclectic Chinese food, you'll like this place. As for me, the search continues.

They make *great* noodles, but aren't always organized to meet demand, which can leave you choosing from a sub-par set of alternates. 4.5-star noodles, 2.5-star rest of menu. i.e., ask if they have fresh noodles before being seated.

From the Yelp reviews, I was expecting some authentic Chinese food. We had their pork dumplings and "dan dan mian." My boyfriend also ordered their egg flower soup. Overall, the food was edible but not that good.I didn't expect much from the soup but it shocked me that it was one of the least enjoyable egg flower soups I've had. Basic egg flower soup is nothing more than chicken broth, corn starch, and egg. The version at Chinese Delicacy was definitely edible. Portion was very generous for just under $5. It was loaded with decent-sized shrimps (probably 41/50), carrot, peas, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and egg. There was just too much going on. One second I was chewing on slimy mushroom slices, then fibrous bamboo shoots, then mushy peas, then crunchy water chestnuts or carrots. It was off-putting.The dumplings were no different than the frozen "Shan Dong" dumplings I bought from the Asian grocery store except they costed twice as much and I got half the bag...already boiled for me.The Chinese name of their dan dan noodle was "hong you dan dan mian" which literally translates to "red oil dan dan noodle." Hence I expected a dan dan noodle in a thin soy/vinegar sauce with red chili oil. If you ever had "hong you chao shou" (wontons in red chili oil), that would be typically how it's serve and it actually is quite similar to the more authentic dan dan noodle. Chinese Delicacy's dan dan noodle had no red chili oil. It was a pile of noodle under a mountain of thick meat sauce mixture with chopped wood ears, water chestnuts, and chili sauce. Far from what authentic dan dan mian should be. I like the noodle itself. They were soft yet chewy.Service was bad. I know Asian restaurants, especially Chinese ones, are well known for poor or lack of service but this is one of the worst I've experienced. The only thing they said to us was "are you ready?" When I asked the waitress if she could put my son's fruits in the fridge, she just pointed me toward the beer cooler. We had to ask for a high chair twice which she simply pointed me to grab it myself from the short dark hallway across from the restrooms.

You will be sadly disappointed if you think this is your typical neighborhood Chinese take-out because it's far from it. This is a Korean owned jja jang myun (black bean noodles) house which serves up the best "Northern Chinese cuisine" in Oregon. And by "Northern Chinese cuisine", I mean the ever-so-popular Korean owned Chinese restaurants which serve up the ever-so-popular black concoction called jja jang myun, which can be found littered throughout the streets of Korea and LA. Ever since moving to Oregon, I've been on a mission to find the best jja jang myun available around these parts. After many, many failed attempts (please don't tell me you think that Duh Kuh Bee is actually good?!), I was recommeded here by a friend, and I'm sure glad I was! This was the closest to Hawaii or LA jja jang myun that can be found in Oregon, hands down!jja jang myun (black bean noodles), tang soo yuk (sweet sour pork), and gang poon gi (deep fried braised chicken) are all Korean staples when it comes to food. I guess you could say they're the equivalent to pizza, hot dogs, and hamburgers for American palates. The jja jang is pretty good considering it's Oregon. The tang soo yuk is the main draw here in my opinion. Very tasty but you gotta eat if fresh for it to be crunchy. Don't even think about taking this to-go because it won't taste the same in the comforts of your abode. And something strange I've noticed about jja jang myun restaurants here in Oregon - they all use wings for the gang poon gi. I've never seen this before. It's weird. Nowhere in Korea, Hawaii, or LA have I ever seen this style. The good news is that you can order it boneless but it's not on the menu so you'll have to ask.Chinese Delicacy is in my opinion, the best jja jang myun restaurant in Oregon. We've made it a point to eat dinner here every Sunday evening along with a billion other Koreans gathering after church. It's become somewhat of a ritual. Again, don't go there thinking it's your typical take-out Chinese restaurant because it is not. Go there for the three items I've listed above and you can thank me later. Laterz.

Looks like there's been a little grade inflation in this yelp crowd. So excited to try this place out and left feeling very puzzled. Yes, the dumplings were good and plentiful and cheap...but let's just say it wasn't worth the 15 min drive from ne pdx.If I lived in the neighborhood, I would go back but don't make the trek expecting to have discovered the missing hidden chinese gem in Portland.

I'm not sure how to rate this place. We ordered the pork dumplings and had them pan-fried, also Mongolian beef and General Tsao's chicken. The dumplings were beyond amazing. So f'in good, my son and I were fighting for the last one on the plate. I would totally get these again - one plate for each of us. There were about a dozen on the plate, and you can get them boiled or pan-fried. Either way, they'll be delicious. So, 5 stars for the handmade dumplings! However the other dishes I can barely give 2 stars to. The Mongolian beef was flavorless. Throwing in 5 dried chili peppers does not, in my book, count for spicy. The General Tsao's chicken was pretty much inedible. Thick, gloppy sauce covered heavily-battered chicken, which was full of gristle and I had a piece of bone in mine. We didn't take the leftovers home, it was that bad. Even the tea was incredibly bland. The service was friendly and fairly quick, and they definitely know what they're doing with those dumplings.

Great little gem in the neighborhood! We went for their lunch specials. Priced from $4.95-6.95 you get an entree, fried rice, spring roll and soup of the day. Do you really need any more than that! The first time we went, we ordered 3 lunches for the 2 of us. It was quite a bit of food. We took one whole serving of the fried rice home. Our order was the Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken and Sweet & Sour Pork. All very good. The beef was tender, the orange chicken not too sticky sweet and the pork didn't have an old oil taste that a lot of Chineese restaurants have when they have a number of deep fried dishes. The fried rice wasn't heavily oiled and it was light and fluffy. We did not try the soup because we are not fans of hot & sour soup. My husband went back the next day and got the General Tsao's chicken and egg flower soup and said they were just as declicious. The staff was friendly and we chatted with them a bit.I am so glad we checked out this place since it's only 5 min walk from the house.
